Job summary

NHS Highland is seeking an experienced medical secretary to join the acute paediatric secretarial team. The role is part of a job-share, ideally Thursdays and Fridays, and requires experience at Band 4 secretary level.

The successful candidate will provide high‑quality administration and secretarial support to a large team of Acute Consultant Paediatricians, coordinating across clinics and on‑call duties with meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• This role requires substantial experience as a medical secretary, ideally at Band 4 level.
• Experience in paediatric administration and coordinating with consultants is desirable.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality administration and secretarial support to the acute paediatrics team.
• Manage multiple general and specialist clinics and on-call responsibilities as required.
• Ensure attention to detail in all workstreams and liaise with the Paediatric Admin Manager.
