RecruitNet International Ltd is hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 for a Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, to lead the Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) and oversee clinical operations. The role requires strong leadership, PACU expertise, and a commitment to high standards of patient care.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team, drive quality improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, and support professional development for staff, with a focus on safe perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) in good standing.
• Five years' post-registration nursing experience, with at least two years in a progressive leadership or management role.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, teaching, mentoring, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple priorities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of PACU nursing practices and perioperative patient care.
• Ability to deliver age-appropriate, patient-centred care and education.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for the PACU in a hospital setting.
• Ensure safe, compassionate, evidence-based post-operative care and compliance with standards.
• Lead, support, and develop the PACU team through recruitment, performance management, and education.
• Coordinate communication with anaesthetists, surgeons, registrars, nurses and allied health professionals.
• Oversee unit operations including workforce planning, budget management and resources.
• Drive quality improvement, risk management, audits, and accreditation processes.
• Maintain infection control practices, hand hygiene and waste management.
• Promote effective communication and strong relationships with patients, families and staff.
