Job summary

Northern Trust, based in Ireland, seeks an experienced Operational Risk Specialist to serve as the Designated Person for Operational Risk Management (PCF39B) overseeing risk for UCITS management activities. You will report to the International Chief Risk Officer and partner with global risk teams.

Ideal candidates will bring senior risk leadership within asset management, strong regulatory knowledge, and proven ability to communicate complex risk topics to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Track record in a risk management capacity at a senior level within asset management.
• Extensive knowledge of EU/UK regulated entities and related requirements.
• Experience with regulatory communications and expectations (CBI/ESMA/UCITS).
• Strong written and verbal communication, tailored to audience and complexity.
• Global outlook with sensitivity to cultural differences.
• Significant experience in asset management risk or operational risk in regulated business.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational risk processes and business resilience.
• Act as the Designated Person for Operational Risk Management (DP) reporting to boards/regulators.
• Own the Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement.
• Monitor and assess risk appetite and ICAAP risk assessments.
• Collaborate with other Designated Persons and contribute to governance forums.
• Support global non-financial risk processes and cross-functional initiatives.
