Job summary

Red Hat’s Open Source and AI Program Office (OSAIPO) in Ireland, Waterford, is seeking a paid, full-time intern starting January 2027 to contribute to upstream AI projects and cloud-native technologies.

You will work with engineers and community members to research, document, and communicate project capabilities while gaining experience in open source governance and collaborative software development.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university program in Ireland for the full duration of the internship.
• Strong written and spoken English required.
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub or similar source-code collaboration platforms.

Responsibilities

• Participate in strategic upstream AI projects and community/technical activities.
• Collaborate with Red Hat engineers and community contributors to understand priorities and opportunities for contribution.
• Research emerging technologies and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Track project activity, contributions, issues, and community engagement.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, presentations, and community materials.
• Engage with open source communities and learn established practices for collaborative software development.
