Job summary

Red Hat’s Office of the CTO invites a highly motivated Software Engineering Intern to Waterford to help accelerate AI and next‑generation computing. You’ll build POC systems, collaborate with upstream communities, and partner with product teams to enable AI platforms and hardware support.

Join a paid full-time internship starting January 2027, with exposure to PyTorch, vLLM, container runtimes, Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD, and IaC.

Qualifications

• You must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Republic of Ireland for the full internship duration.
• Strong coding fundamentals in at least one of Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, Rust, or C/C++.
• Familiarity with UNIX or Linux environments and version control with Git.
• Curiosity to learn new technologies and work with open-source communities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a dynamic team exploring emerging technologies in AI and cloud-native platforms.
• Build and iterate on POC implementations for AI and deployment pipelines.
• Work with model training, inference pipelines, and scalable serving systems.
• Present findings to technical audiences across Red Hat.
