Job summary

Red Hat is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join the Agent Operations team in Ireland. You'll work on open-source AI platforms, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and cloud-native security, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You'll contribute to engineering tasks, participate in agile sprints, and help deliver innovative solutions alongside experienced engineers, with mentorship and opportunities to present at Lunch & Learn sessions.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Irish university for the full internship duration.
• Available January to August 2027 in Ireland.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Familiar with Python, Go or Rust and Linux basics.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering tasks under the direction of an experienced engineer.
• Be an active member of an agile development team (scrum/kanban).
• Collaborate with other engineers and learn new skills.
• Troubleshoot issues and help deliver innovative solutions.
• Work both on your own and with the team across locations.
• Mentor a transition year student and transfer skills.
• Contribute to the open-source community.
• Present topics at Lunch & Learn sessions.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate work.
