Job summary

Carton House in Maynooth, Co. Kildare, Ireland, is seeking a Groups, Conference and Events Sales Manager to lead the GC&E Office and team, drive enquiry conversion and revenue, and ensure timely responses to all enquiries.

The role requires experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel environment, exceptional sales, negotiation and relationship-building skills, and strong organisational ability. You will chair weekly GC&E meetings and work closely with Operations to maximise space utilization.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of hotel operations, particularly Conference & Events.
• Previous experience in a 4 or 5-star hotel environment.
• Excellent sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• High attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of Opera is desirable but not essential.
• Passionate, energetic, and customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the GC&E Office and team.
• Drive enquiry conversion and achieve revenue objectives.
• Ensure all enquiries receive responses within 24 hours.
• Attend and contribute to Commercial Meetings.
• Produce accurate weekly forecasts and reports.
• Manage group room night and conference/event performance figures.
• Oversee event proposals and client follow-up.
• Ensure function sheets are completed accurately and reviewed weekly.
• Collaborate closely with Operations to maximize event space utilization.
• Chair weekly GC&E meetings and maintain effective communication across departments
