Job summary

Apleona are seeking a Catering/Barista Assistant to join our on-site team in Blanchardstown Dublin 15. The role is a fixed-term, one-year contract with a 15-hour week pattern: Thursday 8:00-16:00 and Friday 7:00-15:00.

You will operate espresso machines, handle tills, maintain HACCP standards and keep equipment and areas clean. The ideal candidate has at least six months in a food service environment and is a reliable team player with good communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months experience in a similar environment (coffee shop/tea house).
• Must be able to communicate clearly with all staff and clients
• Be a team player, have time management and organisational skills
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift as required within the kitchen environment
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the Canteen’s recipes, portioning and serving standards
• Operating commercial espresso machines and experience with latte art designs
• Familiarity and experience operating a till dealing with cash and card payments
• Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition
• Ensure that all products are ordered according to predetermined product specifications .
• Report any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures
• Ensure compliance with HACCP regulations
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate cleaning schedules for equipment and food storage areas
• Check and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points
• Maintain professional appearance at all times, clean and well-groomed in accordance with company standards
• Develop a positive working relationship with fellow workers and customers and avoids conflict
• Attends training sessions as required
