Job summary

MatchMedics in Ireland is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Physician to support employees and organisations through health assessments and surveillance programmes.

You will provide expert medical advice, contribute to wellbeing initiatives, and work with multidisciplinary teams to promote safe, healthy workplaces.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
• Medical degree and LFOM/MFOM qualification.
• Experience in occupational health and medical report writing.
• Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience in health surveillance programmes and multidisciplinary work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fitness-for-work assessments and occupational health consultations.
• Provide return-to-work guidance and workplace accommodation recommendations.
• Prepare clear, evidence-based medical reports.
• Support health surveillance and vaccination programmes.
• Advise employers and multidisciplinary teams on occupational health matters.
• Promote employee health, wellbeing, and workplace safety.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse client base, supporting employees and organisations through occupational health assessments, health surveillance programmes, and expert medical advice.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct fitness-for-work assessments and occupational health consultations
• Provide return-to-work guidance and recommendations on workplace accommodations
• Prepare clear, evidence-based medical reports
• Support health surveillance and vaccination programmes
• Advise employers and multidisciplinary teams on occupational health matters
• Promote employee health, wellbeing, and workplace safety

Requirements

• Active IMC (Irish Medical Council) registration
• Medical degree and LFOM/MFOM qualification
• Experience in occupational health, fitness-for-work assessments, and medical report writing
• Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Qualification, membership, or specialist training in Occupational Medicine
• Experience in health surveillance programmes
