Optima Health is recruiting an Occupational Health Physician to support clients across Northern Ireland with hybrid working. The role suits doctors with Dip Occ Med and GMC registration who can provide both on-site and remote occupational health services.

Job description

Job Title: Occupational Health Physician

Location: Northern Ireland / Hybrid working

Salary: up to £135,000 (FTE) per annum depending on experience

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time or Part Time 22.5 - 37.5 hours per week between Monday to Friday (8-4/9-5/0830-1630)

Right to live and work in the UK is required for this role

Role Summary

We are looking for an Occupational Health Physician (OHP) to join our team supporting customers across Northern Ireland. The role combines home working with onsite delivery when required.

We welcome applications from doctors with previous Occupational Health experience, as well as doctors who have completed a Diploma in Occupational Medicine (DipOccMed) and are looking to develop their career in Occupational Health.

You Will Be Required To Carry Out

For doctors who are new to Occupational Health, we provide the training and support needed to develop your skills and confidence in the role. You will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support as you build your practical Occupational Health experience, allowing you to apply your DipOccMed knowledge in a clinical setting.

We are therefore keen to hear from doctors who have completed their DipOccMed and have a genuine interest in pursuing a career as an Occupational Health Physician, even if you have not yet gained hands‑on Occupational Health experience.

Who Are We Looking For?
  • Diploma in Occupational Medicine (Dip Occ Med) or AFOM/MFOM
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • A Medical Practitioner who has, since full registration, consolidated their skills and continued their medical education in line with the requirements for Revalidation.
