Job summary

eir business talent is seeking a Mid-Level Network Engineer (Fortinet) for a day-rate contract in Dublin 1. The role is hybrid with 3 days onsite per week, an initial 6-month engagement with potential extensions.

You will focus on Fortinet/FortiGate, firewall management, and security improvements within a large enterprise network. Key tasks include BAU security incident handling, firewall rule reviews, IPS support, and Cisco tech support including Cisco ISE and on-premise switching.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Fortinet/FortiGate experience is essential.
• Experience managing BAU network/security tickets and firewall changes.
• Cisco ISE knowledge desirable.
• CCNA-level knowledge or certification advantageous.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, self-starting approach with risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Manage BAU network security incidents, requests and tickets.
• Administer and troubleshoot Fortinet/FortiGate environments, including proxy and website access restrictions.
• Perform firewall rule reviews and support ongoing security hardening activities.
• Manage firewall policies, site restrictions and access-related issues.
• Support and maintain IPS and wider network security controls.
• Troubleshoot network and security issues across the environment.
• Support Cisco technologies, including Cisco ISE and on-premise switching.

We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to support the day-to-day operation and security of a large enterprise network environment. The role is primarily focused on Fortinet/FortiGate, BAU network security, firewall management and continuous security improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage BAU network security incidents, requests and tickets.
• Administer and troubleshoot Fortinet/FortiGate environments, including proxy and website access restrictions.
• Perform firewall rule reviews and support ongoing security hardening activities.
• Manage firewall policies, site restrictions and access-related issues.

Skills & Experience
