Job summary

Hall Recruitment is recruiting a Director of Operations – Mechanical & Electrical Hard Services for an established national engineering and facilities management business in Ireland. The role requires a commercially astute senior leader with a deep M&E hard services background to drive national service delivery and profitability.

You will report to the Managing Director and oversee 80–100 mobile engineers with support teams, leading operational changes, budgets and customer relationships

Qualifications

• Significant senior operational management experience in M&E Hard Services or technical facilities management.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical building services including HVAC.
• Experience managing multi-site engineering operations and large technical teams.
• Experience overseeing mobile engineering workforces and subcontractors.
• Significant responsibility for operational budgets, forecasting and P&L performance.
• Experience with planned & reactive maintenance and statutory compliance.
• Proven record of improving operational efficiency and profitability.
• Knowledge of Irish health and safety requirements and compliance.
• Experience using CAFM or other CMMS.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead national M&E and Hard FM service delivery with consistent standards.
• Manage operational budgets, P&Ls, forecasting, margins and costs.
• Oversee mobile engineering teams, scheduling, resource allocation and subcontractors.
• Ensure delivery of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, PPM and statutory maintenance.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety and technical governance requirements.
• Identify inefficiencies, improve productivity and drive operational changes.
• Manage senior customer relationships and contract performance.
• Lead mobilisation of new contracts and support major tenders.
• Develop operational managers and foster a culture of accountability.
