Job summary

TerraGlen Residential Care Services in Ireland seeks an experienced manager to support day-to-day operations and to act as Manager during absences, ensuring continuity of service and leadership. You will oversee staffing, compliance, and performance while fostering a respectful, collaborative team environment across multiple sites.

The role requires a Level 8 qualification in social care or related field (CORU) or Level 7 plus a management qualification, with at least 3 years' supervisory

Qualifications

• Level 8 qualification in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent recognized by CORU.
• Level 7 plus Management qualification (min. 30 ECTS, Level 6 or higher) in line with HIQA Regulation 14(7).
• Minimum 3 years’ management or supervisory experience in a health or social care setting.
• Strong understanding of HIQA, Children First Act 2015, Disability Act 2005, and GDPR.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Experience within the relevant industry.

Responsibilities

• Support the Manager with the daily operation of the department.
• Act as the Manager during periods of absence, taking responsibility for all operational and staffing decisions.
• Supervise, motivate, and support team members to achieve departmental objectives.
• Allocate work, manage workloads, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
• Monitor performance and address day-to-day operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve escalated concerns where appropriate.
• Monitor health and safety standards and ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist with recruitment, induction, training, and performance management of staff.
• Complete administrative duties, including reports, rotas, timesheets, and record keeping.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency.
• Liaise with senior management and other departments to ensure smooth business operations.
