Job summary

Team Horizon is seeking a Moulding Engineer for a leading manufacturing company in Sligo. You will partner with Quality and Production to ensure product attributes meet specifications and maintain equipment through preventative maintenance and calibration cycles.

The role calls for hands-on project leadership in tooling and process improvements, with cross-functional collaboration across marketing, customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • A relevant technical qualification in engineering/science/moulding.
  • 5-7 years+ relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of molding, extrusion and/or polymer processes and technologies.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills; statistics knowledge/experience would be advantageous.
  • Previous project/process management, product technology transfer /NPI and validation experience is desirable.
  • Results driven with proven ability to prioritize work and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Good working knowledge of quality systems would be helpful.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks is a benefit.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with quality to ensure product attributes and performance meet specifications.
  • Maintain day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance activities to uphold manufacturing equipment.
  • Liaise with Production to maximize equipment performance.
  • Maintain records and documentation on relevant engineering procedures.
  • Coordinate calibration, preventive maintenance and spare parts programmes.
  • Coordinate with internal/external engineering personnel and contractors for maintenance, troubleshooting, installation and commissioning.
  • Lead technical design decisions and project planning for new mould tools and processes.
  • Integrate new injection mould tooling and equipment into manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical oversight on existing lines, investigate yields and quality trends.
  • Prepare CAPA plans and implement per timelines.
  • Lead projects against milestones and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Customers, Suppliers and Vendors.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Analyze metrology measurements during product development phases.
  • Decide on mould design and steel adjustments to meet tight tolerances.
  • Ensure safe calibration and maintenance practices and adherence to GMP.
  • Participate in risk management activities as required.
  • All other duties as requested or assigned.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure compliance with calibration and maintenance requirements. Ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices adhered to.
  • Ensuring compliance with all Quality, Regulatory, GMP requirements and adherence to all copmpany policies and relevant legislation.
  • Participate in Risk Management activities as required.
