Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Mobile Engineer for IT contracting in Ireland. You will contribute to mobile apps (iOS and Android), deliver high-impact features, and develop scalable APIs that power core experiences.

The role emphasizes strong engineering practices, automated testing, and production health, with mentorship and a collaborative culture. Hybrid work with on-site months and a 12-month initial contract.

Qualifications

• Experience building scalable UIs with Angular, HTML and CSS.
• Strong knowledge of Angular features (ngRx) and responsive design.
• Proven track record in web and mobile apps across Angular, iOS and Android.
• Hands-on hybrid app development using Ionic/Capacitor or similar.
• Experience integrating native functionality via plugins and SDKs.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication and cloud-aware practices.
• Familiarity with app health monitoring and release management.
• Proficiency in CI/CD and automation testing (Playwright).

What Skills You Need in this job as a Mobile Engineer

• Proven front-end engineering experience using Angular, HTML, CSS, and building scalable UIs.
• Strong grasp of object-oriented design, design patterns, Angular capabilities (ngRx, signal-based stores).
• Demonstrated expertise developing responsive web and mobile apps across Angular, iOS, and Android platforms.
• Hands-on hybrid app development (Ionic, Capacitor, or similar), with understanding of native mobile concepts and APIs.
• Experience integrating native functionality (plugins, SDKs, mobile APIs).
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, backend services, secure app design, authentication, and cloud-aware practices.
• Knowledge of mobile application lifecycle: optimisation, troubleshooting, release and deployment (App Store/Google Play).
• Familiarity with app health monitoring (analytics, crash reporting, observability tools).
• Proficiency in CI/CD, automated quality checks, and DevOps practices (Jenkins, Artifactory, Sonar, automation frameworks like Playwright).

What’s on Offer in this job as a Mobile Engineer

• Daily Rate up to €500.
• Hybrid working environment that is remote the majority of the month with one full week on-site per month.
• Good likelihood of contract extensions with an initial 12-month contract.
