Job summary

DataAnnotation is seeking a Medical Coder to evaluate AI coding output against guidelines and documentation, and to author assignments a careful auditor would sign off on.

You will test coding prompts (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS), review AI results for wrong codes or missing edits, and write the correct coding tied to documentation and current guidelines. This is a fully remote, flexible role with project-based work and strong earning potential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on medical coding experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Credential such as CPC or CCS preferred.
• Clear written English: explanations are training signals.

Responsibilities

• Write prompts that test coding accuracy: ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and E&M leveling.
• Review AI output for incorrect or unspecified codes, bad modifiers, missed edits, and unsupported codes.
• Write the correct coding when the model falls short, tied to documentation and current guidelines.
