Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join the ECI team in Kilkenny. This permanent role will involve coordinating water and wastewater projects across Ireland, working with process/mechanical/civil/electrical disciplines and a Project Manager to drive concept design through to delivery.

The role offers a mix of office/site work with WFH options, and requires handling design, procurement, subcontractors and commissioning to meet time and budget targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum NFQ Level 7 degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• Practical site experience is desirable.
• Experience as part of a project team from design to delivery.
• Ability to coordinate design/site activities and manage teams.
• Strong communication and writing skills; able to liaise with clients and stakeholders.
• Proficient IT skills: Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of delegated projects and project issues.
• Ensure thorough knowledge and understanding of the contract for all assigned projects.
• Evaluation of Client Specifications and liaison with Client Representatives.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, Design Leads and Sub-Consultants during execution.
• Engage with multi-disciplined engineering teams, procurement activities and commissioning teams.
• Ensure equipment is sized, procured, delivered, installed, tested and commissioned per contract.
