Job summary

Veolia is seeking an enthusiastic Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join the ECI Team in Kilkenny. The role involves coordinating a multi-disciplinary team across water and wastewater projects, from early design through to delivery, with responsibilities spanning technical submissions, sub-consultant management, health and safety documentation, and commissioning activities.

The successful candidate will support contract execution, liaise with clients and suppliers, and ensure on-time, in-budget

Qualifications

• Minimum NFQ Level 7 degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or Science
• Practical site experience is desirable
• Experience in a project team from initial stages to delivery
• Ability to coordinate design/site activities and work independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of delegated projects and project issues
• Ensure thorough knowledge and understanding of the contract for all assigned projects
• Evaluate client specifications and liaise with client representatives
• Communicate with the Project Manager, Design Leads and Sub-Consultants during execution
• Coordinate design activities with multi-disciplinary team
• Manage design and site activities while maintaining H&S
• Oversee budgeting and scheduling to meet programme deadlines
• Ensure equipment sizing, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning align with contract requirements
