Job summary

Auxilia Group Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter on behalf of our client, an established company within the engineering sector. This is a permanent opportunity based in Dublin.

The role involves assembling conveyors and automation cells from drawings, fitting drive components and installing pneumatic systems. You will travel to customer sites across Ireland and support site modifications as required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' post-apprenticeship experience in machine build, OEM assembly or industrial maintenance.
• Time-served Mechanical Fitter: completed apprenticeship (QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Craft – Fitting, or equivalent).
• Able to read and work from engineering drawings, GA and assembly drawings, BOMs and pneumatic schematics.
• Solid practical knowledge of power transmission, bearings, alignment, and pneumatics.
• Confident with hand and power tools, measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, dial gauges) and bench fitting.
• Full, clean driver's licence and willingness to travel to customer sites within Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Mechanically assemble and build conveyors, labelling systems, product handling equipment and automation cells from general arrangement drawings, assembly drawings and BOMs.
• Fit and align drive components: motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, chains, sprockets, belts, pulleys and couplings.
• Install and plumb pneumatic systems: cylinders, valves, regulators, FRLs and tubing, to schematic.
• Fit guarding, sensor brackets, frames and sub-assemblies to tolerance, carrying out light drilling, tapping, cutting and bench fitting as needed.
• Carry out mechanical testing and factory acceptance testing (FAT) with the project and electrical teams before dispatch.
• Install and commission machines on customer sites across Ireland, and support occasional site breakdowns and modifications.
