Job summary

Apple Ireland in Cork is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical building systems across its facilities portfolio and lead maintenance, data analytics, and CAPEX-to-OPEX transitions.

You will drive continuous improvement, ensure ISO 14001 and Legionella L8 compliance, manage vendors, and partner with project managers to deliver safe, productive environments for Apple staff and customers.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of managing, operating, and troubleshooting commercial mechanical building services.
  • Experience executing preventative maintenance programs to optimize mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of facilities health, safety, and environmental compliance (permit to work, LOTO, water quality).
  • Experience overseeing maintenance vendors and service contracts with quality outcomes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day mechanical building systems across the portfolio.
  • Drive continuous improvement by enhancing the preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime.
  • Lead data analytics deployment across the portfolio to drive operational excellence.
  • Support CAPEX projects with input on mechanical design, construction, and commissioning.
  • Own the mechanical turnover from CAPEX to OPEX for smooth operations.
  • Ensure ISO 14001 and Legionella L8 compliance with audit-ready records and permits to work.
  • Manage maintenance contracts, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and quality.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to internal Apple stakeholders in safe, well-maintained facilities.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
  • Provide leadership updates on performance, trends, and risks to executives.
