Job summary

NeoDyne is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for the Power Generation & Energy Systems team. Based at Cork, Galway or Dublin, the role offers full-time staff employment with flexible office locations and a People First culture.

Requirements include a Level 8 degree in Mechanical/Process Engineering, 3–6 years in a similar role, and experience with 3D BIM tools (Revit MEP, Plant 3D) as well as piping design for energy systems.

Qualifications

  • Level 8 degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3–6 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Experience with 3D BIM/Drawing packages (Revit MEP, Plant 3D) and PFDs/P&IDs.
  • Experience with detailed piping design, ideally in Thermal Power generation, using Pipe-Flo or AFT Fathom.
  • Experience producing coordinated General Arrangement drawings and GA drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Produce PFDs and P&IDs with EI&C teams for gas, fuel oil, steam, water and related systems.
  • Prepare requirement specifications for mechanical equipment and assemblies (gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, boilers, pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers).
  • Complete detailed 3D piping design, isometrics, system modelling and stress analysis.
  • Model process/piping system flow and pressure.
  • Prepare plant layout/general arrangements and drawings.
  • Support site surveys, construction and commissioning.

Mechanical Engineer (Cork, Galway or Dublin)

Position Summary

NeoDyne are recruiting a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding Power Generation & Energy Systems team. Experience with Peaking, CCGT, CHP Plants or Embedded Renewables would be highly desirable but not essential as we will provide full training.

This position offers flexibility in location and packages options. This role will be offered as a full-time staff position, based at one of our office locations: Cork, Galway or Dublin Office. Key responsibilities
  • Producing PFDs and P&IDs in collaboration with EI&C teams for Gas, Fuel Oil, Lube Oil, Steam, Water, Compressed Air and similar systems.
  • Producing requirement specifications for various mechanical equipment and assemblies (gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs,/boilers, pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers etc.)
  • Completing detailed Piping Design, including 3D piping design, isometrics, system modelling and stress analysis.
  • Process/Piping system flow and pressure modelling.
  • Plant Layout Design - General Arrangements.
  • Preparing coordinated drawings covering all aspects of installations, including mechanical, electrical and structural elements.

  • Construction Support
Experience & Skills
Required
  • Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent
  • 3-6 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Experience using 3D BIM/Drawing packages such as Revit MEP, Plant 3D or similar
  • Experience in preparation of coordinated General Arrangement drawings, PFDs, P&IDs and more.
  • Experience with detailed piping design, ideally in Thermal Power Generation industry, using Pipe-Flo, AFT Fathom or related software.
