Job summary

Dairymaster is seeking Mechanical Design Engineers to design and develop mechanical components and systems for milking machines at their Tralee headquarters. You will conduct analyses, create drawings, and collaborate with electrical and software teams to ensure robust, manufacturable designs.

The role requires CAD expertise and a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, with travel as needed and a firm commitment to continuous learning and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• Proven experience in mechanical design and development.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) and MS Office.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for milking machines, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Conduct detailed analysis and simulations to validate design concepts and optimize performance.

Job Type: Full Time

Location: Dairymaster Global Headquarters, Causeway, Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland.

Role

The role will involve the following:

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for milking machines, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Conduct detailed analysis and simulations to validate design concepts and optimize performance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience in mechanical design and development
• Excellent IT skills must be proficient in the use of MS Office.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) and other engineering tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and structural analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to dairy farming and milking equipment is a plus.
