Job summary

Dairymaster is seeking Mechanical Design Engineers to design and develop mechanical components and systems for milking machines at their Tralee headquarters. You will conduct analyses, create drawings, and collaborate with electrical and software teams to ensure robust, manufacturable designs.

The role requires CAD expertise and a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, with travel as needed and a firm commitment to continuous learning and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• Proven experience in mechanical design and development.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) and MS Office.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for milking machines, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Conduct detailed analysis and simulations to validate design concepts and optimize performance.
• Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and software components.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting of prototypes and final products, identifying and resolving issues.
• Stay updated with advancements in mechanical engineering and dairy technology, applying best practices to product development.
• Support the manufacturing process by providing technical expertise and guidance.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the design and development process.
• Continually update technical knowledge and understanding of company products and customer needs.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations.
• Participate in selection and procurement of mechanical components and equipment.
