Job summary

SSA Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to lead on-site mechanical works in Limerick for a Market-Leading M&E contractor. You will oversee installation, supervise trades and coordinate with engineers and the Project Manager to deliver on schedule and to specification. Strong HVAC and safety expertise required.

Qualifications

• Relevant Mechanical Engineering / Building Services qualification or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager, Construction Manager, Mechanical Supervisor or similar.
• Strong experience delivering mechanical installations on large-scale construction projects.
• Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical or commercial M&E projects is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of mechanical building services, including HVAC, pipework, plant.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and mechanical trades effectively.
• Strong Health & Safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all mechanical construction activities on site from installation through to completion.
• Supervise mechanical subcontractors, trades and site teams, ensuring works are completed efficiently and to specification.
• Coordinate daily site activities with the Project Manager, engineers, subcontractors and other disciplines.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation and ensure works are installed accordingly.
• Monitor progress against the project programme and assist with planning and sequencing of mechanical works.
• Ensure all mechanical installations meet the required quality, safety and project standards.
• Coordinate with electrical, architectural, structural and other services to ensure effective M&E integration.
• Manage material deliveries, site logistics and mechanical procurement requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure any issues, clashes or defects are identified and resolved promptly.
• Ensure all RAMS, permits, inspections and quality documentation are in place.
• Support commissioning, testing, snagging and handover of mechanical systems.
• Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager.
• Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety procedures and all relevant legislation.
