Job summary

AECOM in Dublin is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our established team across commercial, healthcare, education, residential and infrastructure sectors. You will design mechanical building services, work with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to sustainable and innovative solutions.

The role offers hybrid work options and opportunities to progress toward Chartered Engineer status within a multidisciplinary consultancy.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or related discipline.
Experience in a building services consultancy delivering mechanical designs.
Knowledge of Irish/UK building regs and BIM practices.
Proficiency in mechanical design software and Revit.
Understanding of HVAC, public health, low-carbon systems.

Responsibilities

Design mechanical building services systems including HVAC, water, drainage, and low-carbon energy.
Prepare calculations, specifications, reports and design documentation.
Develop designs using BIM platforms and industry software.
Assist in delivering projects from concept to handover.
Coordinate with electrical, structural, architectural teams.
Attend client and design-team meetings; site meetings as needed.
Ensure compliance with regs, standards and sustainability targets.
Provide practical engineering solutions and mentor junior staff.
Deliver work to quality, budget and programme; contribute to energy-efficient strategies.
