Job summary

AECOM in Dublin seeks an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of major building services projects across healthcare, education, transport, and data centres. You will work with clients, architects and contractors to develop sustainable, energy‑efficient solutions.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status or progression toward chartership, and a strong track record in delivering complex engineering projects within Irish regulations and international

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • CEng status or working towards chartership with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical building services design and delivery.
  • Proven track record leading multidisciplinary design teams and delivering complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design and delivery of major building services projects across sectors.
  • Provide technical leadership ensuring compliance with Irish/UK standards and best practice.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams with electrical, structural, and civil engineers.
  • Develop energy‑efficient, low‑carbon mechanical solutions for sustainable buildings.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to proposals and client presentations.
