Job summary

Cpl Resources is seeking a Manufacturing Technician in Ireland to support day-to-day machining operations, including complex setups, troubleshooting, and quality inspection. You will interpret drawings, select tooling, and optimize feeds/offsets to improve quality and cycle times.

Responsibilities

• Assist machinists with setups, tool changes and troubleshooting.
• Inspect first-off and in-process components using calibrated measuring equipment.
• Maintain production, quality, scrap and downtime records.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and report faults.
• Maintain 5S and safety standards; support lean initiatives.
• Act as a point of contact for less experienced machinists.

Manufacturing Technician Role Overview The Manufacturing Technician supports day-to-day machining operations, taking responsibility for complex setups, troubleshooting, quality inspection and supporting other machinists to maintain efficient production. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate manual and CNC machines for complex and precision-critical work. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and job cards. Select and manage tooling, fixtures and machine offsets. Make adjustments to feeds, speeds and offsets to optimise quality and cycle times. Support machinists with setups, tool changes and troubleshooting. Inspect first-off and in-process components using calibrated measuring equipment. Maintain production, quality, scrap and downtime records. Carry out basic machine maintenance and report faults. Maintain high standards of quality, safety, housekeeping and 5S. Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. Act as a point of contact for less experienced machinists when required. Essential Experience Hands-on experience in a manufacturing/machining environment. Experience setting manual or CNC machines. Ability to adjust/edit NC programmes. Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling and cutting conditions. Experience with manual inspection and measuring equipment. Time-served apprenticeship or relevant technical qualification. Desirable Experience Experience across turning, milling, grinding, gear cutting, EDM or turn-mill centres. Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controls. Zoller/EZ Set or manual tool setting. CMM operation and interpretation of results. ISO programming. Manual machining and 5S experience. SHEQ Responsibilities Follow all safety, quality and environmental procedures and risk assessments.
