Job summary

SmurfitWestrock is seeking a Production Manager to lead all production processes, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery. You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, drive lean improvements, and collaborate with HR to optimise workforce performance across the site in Westport, Ireland.

The role emphasizes decision making, cost control, and adherence to GMP and SHE standards, with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in a similar manufacturing role.
• Third level qualification preferred.
• Awareness of SHE and employment legislation.
• Knowledge of GMP principles.
• Strong logistical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Engineering background highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all production areas and ancillary operations including cleaning, warehousing and shipping.
• Ensure safety and compliance with company policies while driving productivity and cost reduction.
• Lead and develop production teams; manage performance and development.
• Coordinate with HR on people management, fair processes, and disciplinary matters as needed.
• Engage in capacity planning discussions to meet output targets.
• Prepare reports and monitor KPI trends to drive continuous improvement.
