Qualifications

  • Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Production, Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years' CNC machining or precision manufacturing experience.
  • Strong CNC processes, tooling, fixturing, validation, and optimization knowledge.
  • Lean manufacturing qualification or demonstrable continuous improvement experience.
  • Excellent project and stakeholder management, plus communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for CNC manufacturing processes and machining operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and lean manufacturing initiatives across the site.
  • Lead development and implementation of engineering and manufacturing strategies.
  • Lead process optimisation projects focused on quality, efficiency, capacity, and cost reduction.
  • Standardise and implement manufacturing best practices across operations.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, suppliers, and senior management to achieve business objectives.
  • Analyse manufacturing performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Plan and execute significant engineering projects while ensuring regulatory and quality standards.

Job description

CareerWise Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer (CNC) to join a leading multinational manufacturing organisation based in Cork. This 12-month contract offers an excellent opportunity for a manufacturing professional with strong CNC machining and precision manufacturing experience to play a key role in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across a high-volume manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), partnering with site leadership to develop and implement manufacturing strategies, optimise CNC processes, improve productivity, and support the delivery of critical engineering projects.

  • Provide technical leadership for CNC manufacturing processes and machining operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and lean manufacturing initiatives across the site.
  • Support the development and implementation of engineering and manufacturing strategies.
  • Lead process optimisation projects focused on quality, efficiency, capacity, and cost reduction.
  • Standardise and implement manufacturing best practices across operations.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, suppliers, and senior management to achieve business objectives.
  • Analyse manufacturing performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Plan and execute significant engineering projects while ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to manufacturing teams.
  • Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Production, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, fixturing, process validation, and manufacturing optimisation.
  • Proven track record of delivering manufacturing improvement and engineering projects.
  • Lean Manufacturing qualification or demonstrable continuous improvement experience.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.
