Job summary

Oxford Global Resources in Cork, Ireland, seeks a Senior Engineer to provide technical leadership and define the site’s future-state strategy. The role requires driving engineering and lean initiatives, and coordinating with site management to deliver key projects.

The candidate will lead a team of engineers, technicians, and coop students, applying manufacturing best practices to optimise performance across the network.

Qualifications

• Degree or Masters in relevant Engineering or Science discipline (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronic, Production etc.) or technical experience equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Contribute and input into Engineering functional strategy.
• Champion operations excellence across the site.
• Benchmark best practices across the Client network.
• Plans and conducts engineering research design.
• Plans and conducts significant engineering and lean initiatives.
• Standardises and optimises best practices and procedures across the network.
• Co-ordinates with other unit’s vendors and senior managers as needed to ensure specific cost, time and regulatory standards are met.
• Communicates with business partners to resolve process and product issues.
• Evaluates the results of projects and provides manufacturing guidance and assistance as required.
• Technical leadership of Staff engineers, senior engineers, Engineers, Coop Students, Technicians and operators as required.
• Champion lean from an operations engineering perspective

Job description

The Senior engineer will provide technical leadership for the facility. They will be a Subject Matter Expert in a Technical, engineering, automation or Business Process area. This will involve working closely with the site management team to develop and deliver the sites future state strategy.

Key Requirements

• Degree or Masters in relevant Engineering or Science discipline (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronic, Production etc.) or technical experience equivalency.

• Minimum of 6 years’ manufacturing experience
• Recognised Lean qualification, ideally a black belt
• Proven Project Management skills through the delivery of business critical projects.
• Production process troubleshooting experience required.
