Job summary

Gi Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Shannon, Co. Clare, Ireland, to support and improve day-to-day manufacturing operations. You will drive process stability, quality, and cost improvements while partnering with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain and NPI teams.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical/ Manufacturing/Industrial degree and 3+ years of experience in high-volume or regulated environments, with Lean Six Sigma certification and ERP/MRP familiarity.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 3+ years' manufacturing engineering experience in high-volume or regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering and continuous improvement.
• Experience with problem-solving and root-cause analysis with measurable outcomes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specs, and manufacturing documentation.
• Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data systems.
• Experience with validation/qualification processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing engineering support to production to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
• Develop, implement, and optimise manufacturing processes, work instructions, routings, and SOPs.
• Lead continuous improvement projects (Lean / Six Sigma) focused on cycle time reduction, yield improvement, scrap reduction, and productivity gains.
• Support equipment selection, commissioning, validation/qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ as applicable), and process capability studies.
• Collaborate with Quality to support NCRs, CAPA, deviation investigations, and customer complaints where manufacturing input is required.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) / process transfer activities including PFMEA, control plans, line balancing, and training.
• Ensure EHS standards are embedded into process design and daily engineering support (risk assessments, safe work practices).
• Analyse production data and KPIs; provide reports and recommendations to improve performance and uptime.
• Work with suppliers/contractors on tooling, fixtures, jigs, and process improvements.

Role overview

The Manufacturing Engineer will support and improve day-to-day manufacturing operations, driving process stability, efficiency, quality, and cost improvement. This role partners closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and NPI teams to implement robust manufacturing processes and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specs, and manufacturing documentation.


• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence on the shop floor.

• Lean / Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).


• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data systems.


• Experience with validation/qualification processes.
