Job summary

ACCPRO is recruiting an Automation Engineer for a leading Medical Device client in Waterford. The role focuses on supporting and advancing automated production lines in a high-volume manufacturing setting.

The candidate will design, install, commission and validate automation, lead root-cause investigations, and drive process optimisation and continuous improvement in line with GMP and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, installation, commissioning and validation of automated production lines.
• Lead root-cause investigations, troubleshooting and technical problem solving.
• Support process characterisation, optimisation and production ramp-up.
• Drive continuous improvement projects and manufacturing process controls.
• Ensure GMP, quality and safety requirements are met and documented.
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors and customers as required.

I am currently recruiting for an Automation Engineer on behalf of our leading Medical Device Client based in Waterford.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high volume manufacturing environment and support the development, optimisation and continuous improvement of automated production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, installation, commissioning and validation of automated production lines.
• Lead root-cause investigations, troubleshooting and technical problem solving.
• Support process characterisation, optimisation and production ramp-up.
• Drive continuous improvement projects.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes and controls.
• Support GMP, quality and safety requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors and customers as required.

Requirements

• Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in high-volume automated assembly and/or medical device manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Lean Six Sigma and CAD experience are advantageous.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for equipment buy-offs and training.
