Job summary

Manufacturing Engineer / Automation Engineer is required by a leading medical devices company in Waterford City. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role monitors quality and efficiency of assigned product lines and drives continuous improvement through process development and root cause analysis.

Key duties include supporting design, buy-off, installation and validation of automated production lines, leading RCA investigations, ramping production to maturity, and ensuring GMP and quality

Qualifications

  • Honours degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or similar discipline.
  • 3-6 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, high-volume automated assembly experience and medical device experience advantageous.
  • Travel as necessary to support equipment buy-offs and training at vendor/customer sites.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and strong communication skills.
  • Systematic troubleshooting and data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project.

Responsibilities

  • Support design, buy-off, installation and validation of automated production lines.
  • Characterise and optimise processes (DFMEA/PFMEA/DOE).
  • Lead systematic root cause investigations.
  • Support ramp to mature production targets.
  • Develop and implement production methods to meet quality standards for additive manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot additive manufacturing processes and drive improvements.
  • Manage project budgets and liaise with customers/contractors as required.
  • Support technical training and GMP/compliance programs.
