Job summary

JPMorganChase, a global financial services leader, seeks a Manager of Security Engineering in Ireland to lead multiple security teams and oversee day-to-day security delivery aligned to compliance and business needs. You will drive secure by design practices, threat modeling, and secure coding standards across the SDLC/CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in security engineering concepts, software engineering or related fields and 5+ years applied experience.
• Experience leading security teams delivering security solutions and products.
• Experience guiding enterprise‑grade AI capabilities in security workflows with data sensitivity awareness.
• Ability to review AI-assisted security recommendations and ensure auditability.

Responsibilities

• Provides guidance to the engineering team on daily tasks and outputs, setting expectations for quality and collaboration.
• Leads adoption of enterprise‑authorized AI capabilities to improve security delivery speed and quality with human oversight.
• Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products in line with business requirements.
• Manages stakeholder relationships and ensures compliance, SLAs, and business needs are met.
• Establishes secure‑by‑design practices integrated into SDLC/CI/CD and ensures traceability.
• Oversees team execution, roadmaps, backlogs, agile ceremonies, and timely delivery.
• Supports hiring, onboarding, and building an inclusive engineering culture.

As a Manager of Security Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Cybersecurity and Technology Controls you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adherence to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities

• Provides guidance to immediate team of security engineers on daily tasks and activities and sets overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
• Leads team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to improve security engineering delivery speed and quality (e.g., accelerating analysis and documentation), with human-in-the-loop validation and appropriate handling of sensitive data.
• Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
• Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements and business requirements
• Establishes reuse-first practices for AI-assisted workflows used in delivery routines, ensuring traceability/auditability and alignment to security and resiliency expectations.

• Support hiring and team growth: recruit, interview, onboard, and build a high-performing, inclusive engineering culture.
• Establish secure-by-design engineering practices (threat modeling, secure coding standards, dependency hygiene, security testing) integrated into the SDLC/CI/CD.
• Manage delivery execution for the team: plan roadmaps, prioritize/manage backlogs, run agile ceremonies, and ensure predictable delivery against timelines and quality.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Formal training or certification on security engineering concepts, software engineering or related fields and 5+ years applied experience
• Experience running teams of engineers that deliver security solutions operations and experience building security engineering products and solutions
• Experience leading teams in the safe use of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment for security engineering workflows, including validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
• Ability to review and validate AI-assisted security recommendations before adoption, escalating uncertainty and ensuring outcomes align to security, resiliency, and auditability expectations.
• Experience leading technology projects and experience managing technologists
• Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Experience and advanced knowledge in software engineering tools, practices

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience and advanced knowledge in SDLC automation, DevOps, AWS services, Infrastructure as Code, Java, Python, AI Agent development
• Certifications in cybersecurity and cloud technologies
