Grant Thornton International Ltd is seeking a qualified accountant to join our Aviation Advisory team in Dublin. You will leverage accounting and auditing experience to deliver high-quality client services in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Based in the Dublin office, you will lead client engagements, review financial outputs, mentor junior staff, and help grow the practice with strong communication and technical skills in IFRS, Irish GAAP, and US GAAP as beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with accounting and audit experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in accounting or auditing.
  • Audit experience from a top-ten firm advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and Irish GAAP; US GAAP knowledge beneficial.
  • Internal audit experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client finance engagements.
  • Deliver, review and approve financial report outputs (financial models, financial statements, analysis etc.).
  • Manage junior team members to ensure the firm’s standards are continuously achieved.
  • Analyse & establish the root cause of data issues.
  • Foster strong client relationships through regular communication, understanding their business challenges, and identifying opportunities for value-added services.
  • Develop knowledge of core processes within aircraft leasing (maintenance reserves & aircraft lease management).
  • Participate in preparing and presenting proposals to prospective clients, contributing to the growth and expansion of the firm's client base.

The suitable candidate to join the dynamic and quick growing Aviation Advisory team will be a qualified accountant with previous accounting/audit experience, highly motivated, excellent communication skills and hold a positive attitude towards working in a team environment.

It will be an attractive opportunity for an individual who can rise to a challenge, be adaptable and enjoy working in a dynamic environment. The individual will be based in our Dublin office and will be expected to be flexible to visit client offices to meet their demands and continue to deliver the best-in-class service to our clients.

This is an opportunity for someone to work with the number one provider of Aviation Lease Services to the aircraft leasing industry in Dublin and be immersed into the industry with high calibre colleagues.

This role provides individuals with the opportunity to become a key member of the team and play a part in the continued and successful growth of the business unit.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead client finance engagements;

  • +6 years experience;
  • Audit experience from a top-ten firm would be advantageous;
  • Ability to interpret financial statements;
  • Experience of accounting standards - IFRS and Irish GAAP;
  • Knowledge on US GAAP would be beneficial;
  • Internal audit experience would be advantageous;

Advanced excel and analytical skills;

Ability to understand problems quickly with a growth mindset and identify solutions;

  • Skilled in motivating and managing staff to successfully meet tight deadlines; and
  • Be commercially aware.
