Job summary

The Byrne Hotel Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to oversee the Eyre Square Hotel and Victoria Hotel maintenance needs. You will work across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building repairs to ensure guest areas and back-of-house spaces operate safely and smoothly.

This role offers hands-on maintenance with opportunities to support refurbishments and to progress into supervisory roles as the group expands, with meals on duty and staff parking provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in maintenance, building services, or a similar trade (hotel experience desirable but not essential).
• Strong knowledge in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, or general repairs.
• Able to work independently and prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
• Flexible and hands-on attitude with good problem-solving.
• Awareness of health, safety and fire regulations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance requests from guests and departments.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance across bedrooms, public areas, kitchens, and plant rooms.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building repairs.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, fire safety standards, and company policies.
• Support larger projects and refurbishment work where required.
• Respond promptly to urgent issues to minimise downtime and disruption.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to oversee the Eyre Square Hotel and Victoria Hotel maintenance needs. This role is central to ensuring both hotels operates smoothly, efficiently, and safely for guests and staff alike. You will work across a variety of systems, equipment, and building areas, supporting both proactive and reactive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance requests from guests and departments.
