Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Packaging Equipment to join a pharmaceutical client in Carrigtwohill, Ireland. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance to keep packaging lines running reliably and in compliance with GMP and EHS standards.

Responsibilities include performing scheduled maintenance in Maximo CMMS, diagnosing issues, updating logs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant science/engineering discipline or trade.
• Experience in a technical role in manufacturing.
• Experience with packaging equipment is advantageous.
• 2–3 years engineering experience in a pharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to GMP, EHS and site safety guidelines.
• Perform preventive maintenance per the Maximo CMMS schedule.
• Diagnose equipment issues, replace components and troubleshoot.
• Maintain maintenance logs in the CMMS.
• Support continuous improvement for equipment reliability.

Arcadis is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Packaging Equipment to join the team at a pharmaceutical client in Carrigtwohill. 12-months contract initially.

Role Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of packaging equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, adherence to GMP and EHS standards, and the ability to work independently on complex tasks. The technician will maintain accurate records, support continuous improvement initiatives, and respond to equipment emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure a safe, compliant packaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), EHS regulations, and site safety guidelines.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture in all maintenance activities.
• Respond promptly to critical equipment issues.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks as per CMMS (Maximo) schedule.
• Independently diagnose equipment failures, replace defective components, and troubleshoot using standard electronic equipment, technical drawings, diagrams, specifications, and manuals.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair logs in the CMMS system.
• Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Provide general maintenance support for packaging production lines.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Utilize established SOPs and policies while identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of GMP, EHS, and maintenance best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in a relevant science / Engineering discipline / Trade
• Experience in technical role
• Experience in Packaging Equipment an advantage.
• 2-3 years (minimum) of engineering experience within a pharmaceutical environment.
