Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Packaging Equipment to join our pharmaceutical client in Carrigtwohill, Ireland. The 12-month contract role focuses on keeping packaging lines running through preventive and corrective maintenance.

You will work with GMP/EHS standards, use Maximo CMMS for scheduling and logs, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems. Independent work and strong documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant science / engineering discipline.
• Experience in a technical role.
• Experience in Packaging Equipment is an advantage.
• 2-3 years minimum of engineering experience within a pharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on packaging equipment per CMMS schedule.
• Independently diagnose equipment failures, replace defective components, troubleshoot using drawings and manuals.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs in the CMMS system.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability.
• Respond to equipment emergencies to minimise downtime and ensure safe packaging operations.

Arcadis is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Packaging Equipment to join the team at a pharmaceutical client in Carrigtwohill. 12-months contract initially.

Role Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of packaging equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, adherence to GMP and EHS standards, and the ability to work independently on complex tasks. The technician will maintain accurate records, support continuous improvement initiatives, and respond to equipment emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure a safe, compliant packaging environment.

Responsibilities

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), EHS regulations, and site safety guidelines.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture in all maintenance activities.
• Respond promptly to critical equipment issues.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks as per CMMS (Maximo) schedule.
• Independently diagnose equipment failures, replace defective components, and troubleshoot using standard electronic equipment, technical drawings, diagrams, specifications, and manuals.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair logs in the CMMS system.
• Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Provide general maintenance support for packaging production lines.
• Utilize established SOP’s and policies while identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of GMP, EHS, and maintenance best practices.
