Job summary

CareerWise Recruitment has secured a North Cork based food production client seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join during an expansion phase. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians, fitters, and contractors to ensure safe, efficient operation and adherence to quality standards.

The role requires a trade qualification or technical certification in mechanical engineering or maintenance, plus supervisory experience in industry.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, or related discipline.
• Experience in a supervisory maintenance role in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, pumps, conveyors, and plant machinery.
• Experience with maintenance planning and asset management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance technicians, fitters, and external contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
• Organise, coordinate, and lead maintenance training and development activities for maintenance personnel.
• Prepare and manage shift schedules, work assignments, and labour allocation to meet operational requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Coordinate the procurement and control of maintenance tools, spare parts, consumables, and equipment.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to support problem-solving at both operational and strategic levels.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, procedures, health & safety regulations, and environmental standards.
