Job summary

Curam Care Homes on Navan Road, Dublin 7, seeks an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee building, grounds, equipment and services. You will coordinate planned, preventive and reactive maintenance to ensure safety and a welcoming environment for residents and staff.

The role requires construction/building maintenance experience, a full Irish driving licence, and strong organisational and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience or training in construction, building maintenance or facilities maintenance.
  • Practical knowledge of general building repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • A full, clean Irish driving licence.
  • Good judgement and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and work ethic.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate respectfully and clearly with residents, colleagues, visitors and contractors.
  • Ability to prioritise competing maintenance demands and respond appropriately to urgent issues.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate electronic and written records.
  • Previous maintenance experience within a nursing home, healthcare, hospitality or other regulated environment.
  • Health and safety, fire safety or safety-management training or certification.
  • Experience supervising contractors or maintenance personnel.
  • Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance systems and statutory inspection requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate planned, statutory, preventative and reactive maintenance throughout the home.
  • Carry out routine inspections of the building, grounds, fixtures, equipment and essential services.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs and evidence of completed works.
  • Monitor and respond promptly to reported defects, hazards and equipment failures.
  • Support fire safety checks, emergency lighting checks, fire door inspections and other scheduled safety checks, in line with organisational procedures.
  • Liaise with external contractors and service providers and monitor the quality and completion of contracted works.
  • Complete or contribute to risk assessments and method statements for maintenance activities and projects.
  • Manage maintenance supplies, tools and equipment, ensuring that they are stored securely and safely.
  • Communicate effectively with the Director of Nursing, management team and relevant departments regarding maintenance priorities and outstanding actions.
  • Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues and participate in an emergency call-out arrangement where required.
  • Relevant experience or training in construction, building maintenance or facilities maintenance.
  • Practical knowledge of general building repairs and preventative maintenance.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Curam Care Home, Navan Road. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the building, grounds, equipment and essential services are maintained to a high standard, supporting a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors

The Maintenance Supervisor has overall responsibility for coordinating and overseeing maintenance activities throughout the care home. This includes the planned and reactive maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment and facilities, while ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant health and safety, fire safety and regulatory requirements

Key Responsibilities
