Job summary

Marino Institute of Education, Student Accommodation on Griffith Avenue, Dublin 9, Westcourt Student Accommodation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance, presentation and day‑to‑day operations of our 302‑bed residence.

You will manage planned/reactive maintenance, contractors and improvement projects, ensuring safety, compliance and a high-quality environment for residents. This role requires a strong technical background, organisation and a proactive approach.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of maintenance/facilities experience.
  • Relevant trade qualification or certification in a maintenance discipline.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Garda vetting may be requested.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance for the student residence.
  • Manage contractors and suppliers and delivery of improvement projects.
  • Ensure safety, compliance and high presentation standards year-round.
  • Provide practical solutions to maintenance issues and long-term building needs.

Job Description

Marino Institute of Education, Student Accommodation on Griffith Avenue, Dublin 9, Westcourt Student Accommodation is looking for an experienced and hands‑on Maintenance Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the maintenance, presentation and day‑to‑day operation of our 302‑bedroom student residence. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, working across multiple disciplines and taking pride in maintaining a high‑quality environment for residents. You will oversee planned and reactive maintenance, manage contractors and suppliers, help deliver improvement projects and ensure the property remains safe, compliant and well presented throughout the year. We are looking for a proactive individual who can think on their feet, adapt to changing priorities and develop practical solutions to both immediate maintenance issues and longer‑term building requirements. The role requires a strong technical background, excellent organisational skills and a willingness to take ownership of the property.

Key Requirements
  • Previous maintenance, facilities or building management experience
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and general building systems
  • Excellent problem‑solving and organisational skills
  • Relevant trade qualification or recognised certification in a maintenance‑related discipline

  • Positive, reliable and customer‑focused attitude
  • Garda vetting will be requested
  • Proximity to the campus for the extremely infrequent out of hours emergency maintenance
