Housekeeping Supervisor - Required for Parnell Road Sub-Acute Facility.
Purpose of Position
To ensure that high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the facility. To ensure the housekeeping team is fully trained and motivated.
Responsibilities (below is a sample of responsibilities)
- · To manage and direct the housekeeping and laundry staff and ensure a high standard of cleanliness in the facility at all times.
- · To assist in the induction training of new staff to housekeeping and laundry.
- · To plan the duty roster for the household and laundry staff in a fair manner while ensuring adequate cover to the facility at all times.
- · To ensure adequate stocks of janitorial and paper product supplies are available for use, waste is kept to a minimum and regular stock-taking practices are conducted.
- · To manage the ordering and restocking of toiletries and sanitary products for the facility.
- · To ensure that purchasing is carried out as per company policy and within budget.
- · To ensure cleaning schedules are strictly adhered to.
- · Organizing audits to ensure a high standard of cleanliness.
- · To assist with household/laundry duties when necessary.
- · To prepare bedrooms for new residents in advance.
- · To ensure vacated bedrooms are deep cleaned and sanitised on a regular basis.
- · To ensure that residents' personal clothing is clearly labelled, and residents are charged for labeling appropriately.
- · To inform relatives when clothes need dry cleaning or altering.
- · To ensure the weekly bed light and bell call check is conducted, recorded and issues are referred to the maintenance person.
- · To liaise with the maintenance person with regards to maintenance issues and lists.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- · Previous experience in working in a similar environment is desirable but not essential.
- · Passion about elder care, providing residents with a safe, clean environment to live in.
- · Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- · A professional, caring and empathetic nature.
- · Be comfortable working in a sometimes challenging environment.
- · Excellent level of English language skills.
- · Full-flexibility required - Monday to Sunday
