Job summary

CareerWise Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor for a North Cork based food production client. You will lead maintenance teams, ensure safe operations, and support an expansion phase.

The role focuses on planning, training, and governance of maintenance activities across rotating equipment and plant machinery, with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and reliability. This is a full-time on-site position in a growing, well-established company.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, or a related discipline.
• Experience in a supervisory maintenance role within industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, pumps, conveyors, and plant machinery.
• Experience with maintenance planning and asset management systems is preferred.

• Supervise maintenance teams and contractors to ensure safe, efficient work to standards.
• Organise and lead maintenance training and development for staff.
• Prepare shift schedules, assignments, and labour allocations to meet operations.
• Develop and maintain maintenance policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Provide technical guidance for operational and strategic problem solving.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with policies, health and safety, and environmental standards.

ROLE

• Supervise maintenance technicians, fitters, and external contractors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.
• Organise, coordinate, and lead maintenance training and development activities for maintenance personnel.
• Prepare and manage shift schedules, work assignments, and labour allocation to meet operational requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Coordinate the procurement and control of maintenance tools, spare parts, consumables, and equipment.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to support problem-solving at both operational and strategic levels.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, procedures, health & safety regulations, and environmental standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Trade qualification or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, or a related discipline
• Previous experience in a supervisory maintenance role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, pumps, conveyors, and plant machinery
• Experience with maintenance planning and asset management systems preferred
