Job summary

The Commons Hotel is seeking a Maintenance Operator to perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and repair equipment across our facilities to keep operations safe and efficient.

This hands-on role requires basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, the ability to work independently or with a team, and a proactive approach to equipment care. Flexibility for shifts or on-call work is a plus.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a maintenance department is required.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours or on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Operator is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and conducting repairs on equipment, machinery and facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. This role requires a hands‑on professional with technical skills, attention to detail and proactive approach to equipment care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical, electrical or basic plumbing systems.
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools or other specialized equipment.
• Ensure equipment and tools are maintained in safe operating condition.
• Monitor and record maintenance activities in logs or computerized systems.
• Collaborate with production or facility teams to minimize downtime.
• Comply with safety regulations, company policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas including workshop and storage.
• Report any major issues or risks to the Maintenance Supervisor promptly.
• Participate in ongoing training or certification programs as required.

Physical Requirements
