Job description

Maintenance Manager

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a well-established and successful manufacturing business at an exciting stage of its development.

The business is currently investing significantly in its site and operations, with ongoing upgrades across equipment, production capability and infrastructure. As Maintenance Manager, you'll have the opportunity to play a key role in this next phase, leading an established engineering and maintenance team while driving reliability, continuous improvement and engineering projects across the site.

One of the real standouts about this opportunity is the culture and stability of the business. The role has become available following the current Maintenance Manager's decision to progress their career after 20 years with the company. Staff turnover is low, with many employees having built long-term careers within the business, a strong reflection of the working environment and culture.

You'll be joining an experienced team and a working environment built around open communication, collaboration and a down-to-earth approach. This is a role with genuine ownership and influence, where you'll have the opportunity to lead and develop your team while playing an important part in the continued growth and investment of the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, support and develop the engineering and maintenance team.
  • Drive preventative maintenance and equipment reliability across the site.
  • Ensure breakdowns and production issues are managed quickly and effectively.
  • Lead engineering, improvement and capital investment projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, contractors and external service providers.
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality and compliance.
  • Work closely with other departments to support the continued development of the site.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years' experience in a Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager or similar leadership role.
  • An engineering qualification or recognised Mechanical/Electrical trade background.
  • Experience managing and developing an engineering or maintenance team within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of preventative maintenance, equipment reliability and continuous improvement.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to work effectively across different areas of the business.
