Job summary

Baker Finn Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established Cork processing environment. This permanent role focuses on hands-on maintenance of manufacturing systems to support preventative maintenance, continuous improvement, and safe operation of production equipment.

You will work with the maintenance team to implement routines, address downtime, and ensure GMP compliance while keeping high equipment reliability in a fast-paced facility.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining manufacturing systems and equipment in a processing environment.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical automation principles.
• Good report-writing and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and implementation of preventative maintenance routines and manufacturing processes.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives with the maintenance team.
• Apply GMP and ensure maintenance tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
• Support the safe operation of maintenance systems in a fast-paced plant.
• Maintain controls, sensors, pneumatics and electrical systems in the production facility.
• Diagnose and resolve common engineering faults in production machinery.
• Collaborate with production to implement improvements and repairs.
• Track downtime and support the use of mean time between failure data.

Baker Finn Recruitment is recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established organisation in Cork. This is a permanent opportunity for an engineer with hands‑on experience maintaining manufacturing systems and equipment within a processing environment. The successful candidate will support preventative maintenance, continuous improvement and the safe, efficient operation of production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and implementation of preventative maintenance routines and manufacturing processes.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in conjunction with the maintenance team.
• Apply Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and take a proactive approach to ensuring maintenance tasks are completed.
• Support the safe and efficient operation of maintenance systems.
• Maintain controls, sensors, pneumatics and electrical systems within a fast‑paced production facility.
• Recognise, diagnose and resolve common engineering problems relating to production machinery.
• Work as part of the wider team to deliver necessary improvements and repairs to process‑related issues across the production facility.
• Track downtime and support the deployment and use of mean time failure data.

Experience & Requirements

• Previous experience maintaining manufacturing systems and equipment within a processing plant.
• Knowledge, qualification and understanding of electrical and mechanical automation.
• A good level of computer literacy and report‑writing skills.
• Candidates must hold a current visa/right to work in the Republic of Ireland.
• Drivers licence and car required
