Job summary

ISS Recruitment & HR Services is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician for a well-established manufacturing site in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, Ireland.

You will perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance on production equipment and site services within a busy production environment. The role requires a fully qualified electrician, a willingness to work a 3-shift cycle (5 days over 7), and a proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified Electrician / Electrical Craft Certificate or equivalent recognised qualification – essential.
  • Previous electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing, production, food, beverage, pharmaceutical or similar industrial environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with industrial machinery and automated production equipment.
  • Knowledge of motors, drives, control panels, sensors and industrial electrical systems.
  • PLC fault-finding experience would be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider maintenance and production team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Must be available to work a 3-shift cycle, 5 days over 7.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on production and processing equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults across machinery, plant and site services.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control systems, motors, sensors, drives and associated equipment.
  • Carry out electrical installations, repairs, upgrades and modifications as required.
  • Assist with fault finding on automated production equipment and control systems.
  • Carry out routine inspections and testing of electrical equipment.
  • Work closely with production, engineering and maintenance teams to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
  • Support continuous improvement projects aimed at improving equipment reliability, efficiency and productivity.
  • Identify recurring faults and recommend corrective or preventative actions.
  • Ensure maintenance work is accurately recorded and completed in line with site procedures.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to a high standard.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant electrical regulations, company procedures and health and safety requirements.
  • Assist external contractors and engineers when required.
  • Support commissioning and installation of new machinery and equipment.
  • Participate in the ongoing improvement of maintenance procedures and preventative maintenance schedules.
