Job summary

Apleona is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Electrical for our Cootehill site. You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and support plant reliability, with a focus on preventing downtime.

Typical duties include fault finding, servicing, and working with the CMMS/CAFM system. Relevant electrical trades or a recognised Electrician qualification is required, plus at least 3 years in industrial maintenance.

Qualifications

• Electrical trades qualification or diploma in engineering required.
• Experience in electrical fault finding on industrial equipment.
• Ability to read electrical drawings/schematics is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out technical duties across electrical, mechanical and building fabric maintenance.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance per CMMS/CAFM system.
• Identify and remedy maintenance issues to maximise uptime.
• Service electrical, mechanical and non-technical equipment.
• Coordinate with service desk and respond to queries within SLA.
• Fault find and repair breakdowns; coordinate external engineers as needed.
• Assist with site improvements and energy-saving initiatives.
• Maintain records and assist with installation of new plant.

  At Apleona, we are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician - Electrical to join our team based in Cootehill, Co. Cavan

  Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 08:00 to 16:30, Fri 08:00 to 15:30

  Main duties and responsibilities

  • Carry out a range of technical duties to cover mechanical, electrical and some general building fabric maintenance
  • To carry out planned preventative maintenance on all equipment under our control as per the Plant CMMS / CAFM system
  • Proactively identify and remedy equipment maintenance issues, to maximise equipment uptime
  • Servicing of electrical, mechanical and non-technical equipment
  • Liaise with the service desk / supervisor and respond to all non-technical and technical queries in a timely manner to ensure conformance with the relevant SLA
  • To carry out fault finding and repairs to broken down equipment, contact and coordinate service engineers
  • Assist subcontractors as required
  • Maintain appropriate records in line with requirements
  • Assist in the installation of new plant and equipment
  • To keep all business unit leads informed and always updated in relation to equipment issues
  • Liaising with department engineers and other support personnel to identify and solve problems
  • Assist with the drive for 'Cost Reduction Initiatives' across the site from providing ideas through to implementation. This should also include Energy Saving Opportunities (ESOs)
  • To be a self-performing Electrician and continuously strive for self-improvement
  • Ensure any training deemed necessary by your line manager is completed within the agreed timeframe
  • Must be willing to take on and familiarize with all relevant site systems as deemed necessary to complete the role
  • Maintain an internal ‘Best Practice’ regime and encourage continuous improvements
  • Assist with all queries regarding quotations and purchasing when requested
  • Maintain and maximize use of client CMMS / CAFM (Computer Aided Facility Management) system and ensure all works are completed and closed within the agreed timeframe
  • Sourcing and stocking of spare parts as required to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained in accordance with client requirements
  • When applicable Investigate infrastructure shortfalls and promote remedial actions
  • Provide relevant information to assist with the generation of reports
  • Always ensure compliance with Health and Safety and legislative requirements
  • Ensure that all work carried out is following all current regulations
  • Ensure that EH & S procedures are always adhered to. Contribute to targets related to Safety, Quality, Compliance and Continuous Improvement
  • Report of any accident, incidents and out of place findings to the client / line manager
  • Always maintain the workshop and maintenance stores areas in a tidy condition
  • Scheduled on a regular basis to provide cover to the site for out of hours’ situations on a rotational basis.

  Qualifications and experience

  • Electrical Senior Trades or Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Qualified Electrician recognised in Ireland.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance
  • Experience with fault finding on electrical systems and machinery.
  • Strong understanding of electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Safe Pass, Manual Handling, IPAF and MEWP certifications desirable
