Qualifications

Role Description The Maintenance Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based at Radisson Blu Hotel Cork. This position supports the day-to-day upkeep of the hotel’s facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, conference spaces, and back-of-house areas. Responsibilities include performing routine inspections, assisting with equipment and building maintenance, carrying out preventive maintenance tasks, and responding promptly to maintenance requests to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for guests and team members. The Maintenance Assistant will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and wider hotel team to prioritize tasks, document work completed, and adhere to health and safety standards. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and evenings, may be required depending on operational needs.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance, with the ability to safely use basic tools and follow maintenance schedules.
• Experience in Building Maintenance and general Maintenance tasks in a hotel, commercial, or similar environment.
• Effective Communication skills, including the ability to report issues clearly, follow instructions, and collaborate with colleagues and external contractors.
• Understanding of basic health and safety practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Prior experience in a hospitality or facilities role is an advantage.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently with minimal supervision, and maintain attention to detail.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and working on ladders, in line with safety guidelines.
• Relevant technical or trade qualification (e.g., facilities, maintenance, electrical, plumbing) is desirable but not essential
