Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced M&E Coordinator to join one of our client’s project teams, a leading main contractor, on a major construction project in County Clare.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to work on a technically challenging project, coordinating mechanical and electrical services and working closely with the wider project team, subcontractors and consultants.
Role and Responsibilities
- Coordinate all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) services throughout the project.
- Manage and coordinate M&E subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
- Review M&E drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
- Identify and resolve potential design clashes or coordination issues before they impact site works.
- Liaise closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, Design Team, consultants and subcontractors.
- Monitor the progress and quality of M&E installations on site.
- Ensure all M&E works are completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings and relevant industry standards.
- Coordinate M&E requirements with structural and architectural elements of the project.
- Attend and contribute to site, design and coordination meetings.
- Track technical queries, RFIs, submittals and approvals relating to M&E works.
- Assist with programme planning to ensure M&E activities are properly sequenced and potential delays are identified early.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety and quality procedures.
- Support testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure information is communicated effectively across the project team
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience working as an M&E Coordinator, Building Services Coordinator or in a similar position.
- Experience working with a main contractor or on large-scale construction projects is highly desirable.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with subcontractors, consultants and internal project teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work on own initiative while contributing effectively as part of a wider project team.
- Good understanding of construction health & safety and quality requirements.
